A parable is a short, fictitious narrative which illustrates a principle of doctrine. “Parable”, derives from the Greek PARABOLA, is a compound word: “PARA”, meaning “beside”, and “BOLA”, “to throw”; together they denote “to set alongside”. In other to understand the spiritual aspect of a parable, one must match up the story with the principle of doctrine.
